Each year, OVP has programming that is focused on newly developed ideas intended to reach new populations and subjects that are in need of assistance, as well as traditional programs that continue to draw hundreds of volunteers.

In honor of Veteran’s Day, volunteer to package meals for those in need for the Thanksgiving season. All meals will be donated to Stone Creek Church for their community-wide Big Give event.
Holiday Toy Drive | Nov 6 - Dec 4
Each winter, OVP partners with a local organization to collect toys for underprivileged children. There will be collection boxes throughout campus to drop-off toys. All toys should be new and in original packaging. Help a child feel special this holiday season. Click for more info.
MLK Day of Service | Jan 15
MLK Day of Service is an opportunity for students to learn about the impact Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had on the world and participate in hands-on service projects that will benefit community organizations on Monday, January 15, 2018. Click for more info.
Service Saturdays | These projects provide volunteer opportunities to give back to the local community in Champaign-Urbana. Through this program, the volunteers work with local residents and non-profit organizations to help meet the needs of the community. Volunteer opportunities provided through Service Saturdays are easy-access and, typically, one-time projects. Click for the upcoming schedule.
Weekend Service Trips | OVP offers weekend overnight trips to cities in the Midwest. Participants will complete service projects and learn about community issues while exploring their destination. Two trips are scheduled each year.
Service RSO Workshops | Service RSOs are invited to attend drop-in workshops hosted in our office to learn how to better recruit volunteers, plan projects and lead their respective RSO. the workshops will be on a bi-weekly basis during the school year.
Student Volunteer Network | If you are struggling to get your RSO organized and want to collaborate with other groups and coordinate large-scale events, then look no further than the Student Volunteer Network sessions. Students who want to connect, learn and partner on projects find everything about volunteer recruitment and service at these monthly meetings. And free snacks are always provided!
Speakers and Career Programs | Throughout the year, a variety of speakers and professional career development sessions are hosted to give students an understanding on how to incorporate their volunteer opportunities into future jobs, graduate school and post-graduate service opportunities.
