Steeped in tradition, the Illini Union is an exceptional setting
that truly encompasses the ideals of the University of Illinois.
Located in the heart of campus, the Illini Union’s architecture
was modeled after Colonial Virginia. This stunning example of
WPA craftsmanship features interior woodwork which has been
beautifully preserved thoughout the years. Eleanor Roosevelt
christened the doors of the Illini Union in 1941, thus beginning
the rich history of the building – enjoyed by students, faculty,
alumni and guests alike.
