Applicant Eligibility
Any RSO that is registered with the Registered Organizations Office and in good financial standing is eligible to apply for funding from SORF. The treasurer is the registered organization’s primary financial officer and maintains signature authority governing monetary aspects of the organization. Therefore, only currently registered treasurers are authorized to submit SORF applications on behalf of their organization.
The following is required prior to submitting a funding request to SORF:
- Treasurer must attend a mandatory Treasurers’ Financial Workshop.
- Organization must be in active status and registered with the Registered Organizations Office in both systems (https://www.union.illinois.edu/iurso/sign-in.aspx and http://illinois.collegiatelink.net).
- Organization must have an established RSO Account with a positive balance.
Eligibility allows an organization to apply for funding from SORF, but does not guarantee money will be allocated.
Student Legal Services and Tenant Union are the only two non-RSO affiliates allowed to request funding from SORF.
