Cans Across the Quad/ CANstruction
Cans Across the Quad, a program of the Illini Union Office of Volunteer Programs, seeks to fill the shelves of the Eastern Illinois Foodbank. Food insecurity is growing in the Champaign-Urbana community and the Foodbank needs our help to keep its shelves stocked. The 2nd annual Cans Across the Quad event at the University of Illinois encourages a little bit of friendly competition between RSO’s, departments, residence hall floors, Greek chapters and community groups to in order to cover the Quad with canned goods. Imagine what a Quad full of cans could do for CU! The CANstruction event will take place on October 29, 2009. The registration deadline for Cans Across the Quad/CANstruction is TBD. Through the collaboration of gift donations from local businesses and our student body we have been able to donate hundreds of gifts each year. This year OVP will be collecting gifts between November 11 and December 9. Please help to spread holiday cheer this year by donating a gift! Gifts may be brought to the OVP office, 2 nd . floor on the south side of the Illini Union.
