Prestigious degrees don't just magically happen. Neither did the Illini Union. The class of 1909 worked hard to raise money for the Union. The red brick was kiln fired in the state of Illinois. And in 1941 Eleanor Roosevelt dedicated it. Since then, generations of generous alumnus have gathered here to connect. To do these efforts justice, you just have to come and use it.
